1. Triggers acne

Dirt could build up on the surface of the skin whilst you are asleep. This could block the follicles by trapping sebum and dead skin cells. When there is a lack of sebum, it can make it easy for the bacteria to penetrate the skin, causing inflammation. Consequently, everything adds up to acne.

Properly cleansing the skin in the morning can help clear your pores of debris, which will prevent dirt from building up and allow the sebum to reach the surface of the skin. Eventually, the chances of a breakout and, in turn, acne will decrease.

2. Pre-mature ageing

Not following a morning skincare routine means speeding up the natural process of ageing. It is vital to give your skin a good wash the first thing in the morning. 4. Enlarged Pores

Other than acne, not following a skincare routine can contribute to enlarged pores. While it is true that the size of your pores depends on genetics, you can maintain them and prevent them from getting larger by following a proper skincare routine.

It is crucial to care for skin in the sun. If a person’s skin becomes sun damaged, other than premature aging it can be very drying on your skin. When the skin is dry, pores may appear larger. Hence remember to apply sunblock after moisturising every morning! Better yet, apply a moisturiser that contains sunblock which helps you cut down on the number of steps and save time.

5. Loss of Luminosity

If you continuously miss out on your morning skincare routine, your skin will soon lose its radiance and luminosity. It is natural for your skin to shed dead skin cells every day, and a simple 3 step morning skincare routine that includes proper cleansing, moisturising and sun protection will keep your skin glowing. 

During the day, you need antioxidants (Vitamin C, E, Green Tea etc) to protect your skin from free radicals and environmental damage. The right combination of antioxidants in your morning moisturiser will help to brighten your skin and prevent the onset of premature ageing.

Therefore, it can't be stressed enough how important it is to stick to your morning skin routine. Your skin craves for a refreshing boost after a long night's sleep. So investing just a few minutes every morning in your skincare routine will go a long way to radiant and supple skin.
